Protection for your employees at higher risk
For staff at higher risk in a pandemic it is recommended that the influenza antiviral medication is used as a prophylaxis, offering a pre-emptive protection over an extended period. The antiviral medication is supplied in courses of 10 capsules and for continuous protection 1 capsule must be taken daily for 6 weeks, then following a days rest the course can begin again.

Therefore the number of antiviral courses per individual required to offer continuous protection for 6 months = 18 boxes

For staff at general risk in a pandemic it is recommended that one course of 10 capsules of antiviral medication is issued per person. For the medication to be effective 2 capsules must be taken daily within 48 hours of the onset of flu symptoms.

In a pandemic it is highly likely that your personnel will come into contact with infected individuals who are displaying symptoms of Influenza. It is essential that the sick individual is issued with a non-valved respirator in order to help prevent the spread of the virus. Influenza Protection's 'Patient Handling Pack' contains x 10 non-valved respirators Our recommendation is for 1 pack per 100 employees or 1 pack per business location.
